When I was little, I remember that I hated every time my teachers asked me to pass in front of the class to explain an exercise or even at the beginning of the course when we have to tell everyone about ourselves. I never thought that I would get used to it, but right now I even volunteer! At the university I am used to speaking in front of everyone and expressing my own ideas.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, until last year, I thought that I would never be able to get used to online classes. However, I think I already have handled it pretty well. It is not the same because I miss making my friends and I´d never get used to living without them.

At the beginning of the pandemic I thought I would never get used to wearing a mask in my daily life. It was very uncomfortable since I work some days in a kitchen where the heat gets insoportable. At the beginning I had to taken it off for a few seconds to handle the heat and be able to breathe! Now I’m used to wearing the mask for the whole 8 hours of work and it’s not uncomfortable anymore, I even feel weird when I don’t wear it.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing I thought I would never get used to are online classes. It was very depressing and stressful for me to sit for hours without having human contact. Yet, before long I’m used to taking online classes and to doing different activities meanwhile without losing the ideas from the class, now I’m an expert at multitasking!

Before the pandemic I used to study outside my home because I couldn’t focus, I needed to be on the bus or the subway in order to read, also the library was a good place to go. But then the pandemic arrived and I couldn’t go to those places anymore so I had to start studying at home and finally got used to it. I never thought I’d get used to studying at home but now I think it’s a good thing.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that changed in my life when the pandemic started was that I stopped going out, I never thought I’d get used to not going out on the weekends or to the movie theater. Actually I used to go to a lot of bars and clubs but now I’m used to not going out and I’m not sure if I want to come back to those habits.

When I was little, I did not like to participate in class, because I was ashamed and afraid of being wrong. In elementary school, my teachers used to force me to come to the front to answer exercises, and for me it was horrible, because I was really bad at math and all my classmates noticed, so I thought it would always be like that. As I got older, I understood that there was nothing wrong with being wrong, and that it was better to participate in the class, so as not to have doubts and reaffirm what I learnt.

When the pandemic started, I never thought I’d get used to taking classes online. Honestly, I used to hate it, I could only see the disadvantages of it. However, now I feel like I’m used to this dynamic. I don’t like it, though. I’m sure that is going to be really difficult to readapt again to the real life.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I never thought I’d get used to using the facemask and all the other supplies needed to avoid Covid. But now, I’m used to carrying them with me every time I go out. I never forget about it and I even have to remind my parents to do the same.

One of the things I never thought I would get used to is being alone. I grew up in my aunt's house, and I remember that even though there were no other kids I could hang out or play with, there was always someone in the house like my aunts, uncles and even neighbors. I used to be afraid of being alone, I have always been a little anxious about robbers because adults always talked about how insecure was our neighborhood is and I was also scared of ghosts. However as I grew up I started to become I very shy person and I didn't feel comfortable being around a lot of people. In middle school my parents started to allow me to stay at home when I didn't want to go out with them and I began to like being by myself. Now I love being alone and I'm even used to eating alone which my parents say I don't really know why. I'm really looking forward to this pandemic to be over so my family can go out again and I can stay at home :D

I never thought I would get used to studying online because of the lots of noise and the many different distractors that we have at home, but now I’m very used to it. Even when I used to believe that doing my assignments would be an eternal mess somehow, I found a way to make it work, I’m always timing myself, tracking my activities, and organizing my schedule for doing everything in order and on time, now I don’t know If I will make it when coming back to school, but I guess I’ll find a new way to make it work back again.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing I never thought I would get used to is exercise because when I was younger, I never got used to doing it, I didn’t even have a healthy diet or a healthy life at all, but now I’m really used to it, I’ve found a way to have the time we always say we don’t have for exercising (and we don’t, but if we don’t make it, no one will), now I exercise myself at least 3 times a week and I LOVE IT!!!

I never thought about having a cat as a pet, they used to be disgusting to me and have a cat wasn´t an option until one day my younger sister rescued a cat from being attacked by dogs and she brought it to home and insist on adopt it, we accept and since that day I´m extra happy, and I´m obsessed with the cat because is really charming, lazy and independent, even my father likes the cat haha.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing I didn´t believe in, is in the long relationships, I used to have a dates with boys but quickly I felt bored. Currently I´m into a relashionship of almost three years and I´m comfortable with my decision and with the person.

I never thought I'd get used to not going to school every day and not seeing my friends, but now I feel different. Even though I miss them deeply, I think the pros are superior in number. For example, I don't spend a lot of money and time on the bus and the subway. Also, I haven't been sick in a really long time, whereas before I would get food poisoning often.
ReplyDeleteI'm still in touch with my friends, but now we are used to talking through the different apps for long distance communication, like zoom and others. I think our relationship has changed in a positive way and I'm less stressed about simple tasks and not arriving on time.

In 2019 I loved presencial classes. I never though that I would take online classes, but right now, with the pandemic, I used to taking classes in zoom. Im not a big fan of it, but I think that its better than lost all the year doing nothing.
ReplyDeleteIn 2020, I had already 3 dogs that I adopted them. At the beginning of the year, my boyfriend’s dog had puppies and he told me if I wanted one. I though that it was a bad idea, but right now I used to loving my 4 dogs. They are soy pretty and funny.

I have never liked taking showers with cold water, but since I was 10 we don't have a water heater (boiler) at home, so I can say that I more or less get used to that.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I used to think with a lot of prejudices, so I remember thinking that vegetarians couldn't be healthy because meat was irreplaceable. A lot of time has passed since then, and I am vegetarian now, and I got used to it.
I just started listening to music when I was around 13. Before that, I didn't like music and now I can't stop listening several albums each week.

Before the pandemic, I never thought I'd get used to take dance classes at home, since I was a child I used to take dance classes at academies with equipped classrooms with special floor, barre and mirrors, and my teachers close to me correcting my mistakes, taking care of my technique and making me improve, but when the Covid -19 cases increased all schools were closed and the way of taking classes changed into virtual for at least ten months
ReplyDeleteNow I'm used to take dance class at home, I conditioned a room moving the furniture and putting the computer in a special high so that the teacher can watch my movements and tell me when I have to do any correction
