Safety matters

Living in Mexico city has brought us into a point in which matters related to the attainment of a better coexistence have lead to bigger discussions nationwide. It is a fact that our society has been bombed with media stories related to crime, violence, corruption, disloyalty etc. However, the point of it all should not be focused on facts we all know. Opposite to that, wouldn't it be better to focus on the 'hows' & 'whats'? How to transform a society in decadence? How to turn evil into goodness? How to dismantel what is wrong? What can be implemented to change attitude? What can be done? What do you think?

  1. Talking about how to transform a society in decadence, can be an extensive topic, but I want to explain my opinion in a central point: Education.

We have heard for a long time a phrase that has been used for politicians “the children will be the future of Mexico”, but actually it can be questionable when some children give up studying, and later they become robbers, muderers, hijackers, etc. I know that it depends of differents social aspects but I want to emphasize the role of mexican education in the children like a consequence of social polarization.

The pupils of primary school and secondary have been evaluated with a test called Enlace, and it has showed that education in Mexico has a low level, the most of resources for education are spent in unnecessary things for the syndicate so, how we can think in a quality education when some Teachers don’t want to be evaluated. In this context the children can lose their expectations to be a better person.

I think that it could change with a regulation of the resources for education and they should be allocated in programs to improve teaching for offering a quality education and workshops for developing the ability of children. The teachers should be more responsible with their work and impulse the dreams of the pupils, and finally the most important is implement a system of values.

  2. I think that the way to transform anything, especially a society, have to start with the customes of the people.
We can't live having a million of complains but not doing something about it, what I'm trying to say is that we have to participate but with this I'm not saying that we have to make a entire revolution by ourselves, we just have to make little changes in our lifes that can make a difference. For example there is a new movement called INLAKECH and it's about make simple things in our neighborhood like have a meeting with all the people who live in the same street, or introduce yourself with the family that lives nextdoor, or maybe just check which houses are empty and wich ones are habitated.
My point here is that we just have to try diferent ways to combat against the violence and the insecurity, because I think and all of us can notice that the way that has been tried, definitely doesn't work.
So, what about make real changes in our daily life to find new answers for this problem.
Please, check this out to have more ideas...http://inlakech.mx/

  4. In this semester in my major I had to studied a lot about the history of Mexico, and as more I read as more I noticed that many mistakes that we have made in the present, are the same that people in the past has made, so I think that a high quality in education is the key to open the mind of our society to the knowledge, and with this “tool” we will have the opportunity to change our reality.
Why? Because when we have people that knows their history, the mistakes that other people had, the way that the solved it and how this solutions worked, those people could have an idea that what they can do with the challenges that present them in the present and in the future.
I think too that we have to know how our government system works, for think and make new projects that had solid bases for can became in real actions and results. On the other hand, in my opinion we have to resolve the violence, but we have other topics that very important like poorness or the bad economical situation, and nowadays I think we forget them but if we solve one of them we could solve the other easily because all of them are like a structure and had a strong relation

  5. the security in our country is a very difficult issue because we are in monent in which we believed not to go, but all we can do now is try to make a country more united and therefore stronger and we need to a better education to both children and nuetras across the country that belongs to everyone.
starting with ourselves by example and instilling that matter to others if you can get better every day by Notre themselves and a pied country that does not shout.

Ok the center point EDUCATION , Just compare the education in China, EU, UK, etc., in Mexico only live a dismal education, where the ambiguity and lack of commitment reign, a low-paid education, I think that the principal worry should be how to increase the educational level, pay good salaries, invest in education, developing education models of the main countries. Another issue to consider is the culture of our society. In Mexico we live in a comfortable bubble , most of people do not want to be the best, they think if the job gives money and they can buy the minimum it is ok, most of the people live like this, without making any effort. We need a culture to always do the best and try everyday to be the best and when you get home and think how your day was and if you changed something or do did something important to help someone.

  7. In spite of the society "new order", I think the only way to rebuild the concept of community is being responsible for our own acts, I mean that everyone must take responsibility of how our actions or decisions affects others.
For example; if i throw a paper or a bag in the street I wont only provoke a harm in the environment, but also i contribute to block the drainage system and because of that, in the rain season, the house of others could be flooded.
What I'm trying to say is that we must be conscious of our actions and its consequences in order to improve the community interaction.
I think that if everyone analyze their decisions since the most appearing insignificant things, we can change the really meaningful ones like violence, corruption and the indifference.
