WHEN I AM PREPARED TO AFRONT ANY KIND WEATHER, I CAN GO ON AND FEEL POSSITIVE, ENTHUSIASTIC, MOTIVATED AND DISTRESSING EVEN PASSIONATE, OTHERWISE WHEN THE WEATHER SURPRISES ME AND I AM NOT IN CONTROL AND NOT PREPARED TO FACE IT, IT IMPACTS ME MAKING ME FEEL DESPERATE, GRUPMY, PESSIMISTIC, SOMETIMES SCARED AND MISERABLE.
ReplyDeleteI haven´t experienced an extreme weather, but i get very grumpy or desperate when the sun is too hot, or when days are extremely cold. I don´t like to go to the beach for that reason, I start sweating and it makes me feel desperate and lethargic, maybe this extremely weathers might be because of climate change, there aren´t great solutions for that at this point but we can do what is the most common, like recycle, don´t waste water, walk instead of use car, use solar energy, reduce our consuming to mention ones.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago, I believed that feeling cold was better than feeling hot. But, when I had the opportunity to live in Chile, my opinion changed. I visited Chile on 2009's Winter. I thought that I could control my sense of cold If I weared layers. But that never happened, above all when I needed to move to the South. I felt cold all the time even when I went to sleep. Nor chimneys neither pajamas nor bedclothes made me feel warm. Imagine: I slept with gloves, scarf and bonnet. I did not want to get up from my bed at the next day. I felt miserable, desperate, pessimistic and down. Taking a shower was a terrible experience. Sorry, if I exaggerated. But I had not felt too much cold in my life. However, that experience was the best. By the time, myself was adapting to the new weather sensation. At least, I enjoyed the Chilean winter weather.

ReplyDeleteThirteen years ago I went to Veracruz. It was the time in which I met the sea. Since the first moment that we arrived in the Veracruz mountains, the weather impregnated us around the skin with extreme heat. One day passed with hot weather, but suddenly the night began to cloud and the ocean started to scream with its waves. We woke up very miserable and scared, we thought it was the end.The wind started to sing and the palms danced. Fortunately we were at my aunt's house, so she calmed us. She told us that it was just a “norte”. It was very common in december. That day we stayed at home. The next day, we went to a mall that was in front of the beach, it continued cloudy and we took some photos with the rough sea behind. Christmas arrived and magically the sun too. We had an excellent moment, but that night, we walked through the Veracruz`s center sweating.
I experienced a lot of this year. The days with sunny morning and heavy downpours are very common. The downpours occurs because climate change is supercharging the water cycle’s evaporation process and messing with rainfall patterns.
ReplyDeleteI've a lot bad experiences, one of the was when my terrace was flooded or when I forgot to hang clothes out. I feel anxious, I really don't like the sound of heavy rain and I feel worse when there are lightnings.
I'm inclined to think that we need to change our habits, but also the governments have to work together and create better ecological politics.
In my own experience, extreme weather affects my mood in a negative way. I remember when I lived in Mazatlán. The city is lovely, but the summer weather used to make me feel grumpy and lethargic. If you've been there probably you understand how it feels to spend days with a 40°C temperature.
ReplyDeleteI think that we need to recycle, use renewable energy and save water in order to prevent heat waves and other events that are results from global warming.
Elena: I personally haven't experienced an extreme weather event, but last summer my mom went visiting my sister. They experienced a three-day heat wave reaching 45 degrees celsius. They say it felt horrible, sometimes felt like they couldn't breath, they couldn't eat and felt very down and sad all the time. There was a moment when they felt very angry, grumpy and miserable and didn't have any energy. One of those days they had to go to a mall in order to refresh themeselves. When they arrived there was a lot of people who was looking for the same. It felt a little bit better, but still the mall was hot.
ReplyDeleteI think this event was caused by the climate change. We need to reduce our carbon print and stop sending toxic gases to the atmosphere. We also have should start using the bycicle for short distances and walk as much as possible. Another good option is to reduce our "screen time" and avoid consuming very regularly products that create a lot of pollution.
I stongly believe our mood gets affected by the weather. During the heat wave they weren't able to speak to me or even write me and when finally we got in touch, they were very angry. I also have noticed that when the weather is too hot, I get very grumpy and everything upsets me a lot, even the smallest thing makes me extremely angry and I want to cry all the time. We really have to do our parts to stop global warming.
